1D Handheld Barcode Scanner

1D Handheld Barcode Scanner uses different types of light to read each code. The light is reflected from the code elements onto a picture element in varying degrees and the image of the code that this produces is evaluated electronically using a decoder. The scanner can be adjusted by pressing on the Auto button function, or externally via the interface.

A barcode is an optical, machine-readable, representation of data; the data usually describes something about the object that carries the barcode. Originally barcodes systematically represented data by varying the widths and spacing of parallel lines and may be referred to as linear or one-dimensional (1D).
